If you consider that most children start kindergarten at about 5 years of age, you have more time than you think. That is 730 books in two years and 1,095 books in three years. If you read just one book a night, you will have read 365 books in a year. The goal is to have read 1000 books (yes, you can repeat books!) before your child starts kindergarten. The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. All readers who reach 500 books will earn a book to keep read all 1,000 books to earn a certificate! Happy reading!ġ,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a national program that supports early literacy, school preparedness and the parent/caregiver-child bond. Log reading on your Beanstack reading account to mark your progress toward your 1,000 book goal. The 100 backpacks each contain 10 books for you to share with your infant, toddler, or preschooler arranged by theme, character, or author.
